Lacrosse is a full contact team sport played using a solid rubber ball and long handled racket called a crosse or lacrosse stick. Historically, the sport was used for conflict resolution, the training of young warriors, and as a religious ritual. Lacrosse camps for boys and girls provide players positional training, drills, scrimmages through daily games. At the camp, experienced trainers coach players on shooting, dodging, face-off, riding/defense, feeding and much more. In the slightly advanced level, the players are taught stick skills, positioning, transition defense, checking, takeaway checks, drills, breakouts, ground balls, dodging and more. For goalies, stance/positioning, shot stopping, clearing, stick skills, communication, rebounds, drills and demonstrations are important skills to learn.
