with Tom Ryan, Ohio State University Head Coach; Back-to-Back NCAA Runner-up finishes (2007-2009); 2009 NWCA Coach of the Year; former Hofstra University Head Coach, 6X Conference Champions, 7X Conference Coach of the Year; 2X All-American at the University of Iowa.
Coach Ryan covers his favorite set-ups and finishes for two takedowns every wrestler should know - the High Crotch and Single Leg. He begins with the High Crotch, a move he describes as "tough to learn but mandatory to know." The High Crotch segment includes an overview of the proper technique, including his 3-D philosophy. From there he demonstrates six different set-ups and five different finishes for the move. Set-ups include inside tie, post and the Dresser Dump, while finishes include crack down and pop to a double. The Single Leg technique includes four set-ups and two finishes, including a run the pipe series that features four options. Ryan closes with two "problem situations" your wrestlers may find themselves in when these shot attempts get stopped - and how to finish them for points!
