Developing habits through consistent daily reinforcement is a major key towards developing a defensive mindset. The priorities of your program must be a part of your player's knowledge of the game. At Florida they use overload drills to make it difficult on the defense by adding extra offensive players. One of the keys in practice, and then in games, is forcing your team to holler, not talk . "early, loud and continuous" is the teaching point for player communication on the floor! Coach Shyatt demonstrates the defense drills that have made them a great team.
