In his first season at UCLA, the Bruin secondary allowed just 15 touchdown passes (#1 in Pac-10) over 13 games and led the Pac-10 in pass defense giving up just 200.7 yards per game through the air. In this DVD, you will learn the basic principles of zone and man pass defense. DeLoach highlights the four key principles in zone and man defense that he has taught throughout his career: Defending the field, breaking on the ball, rushing the passer, and defending deep to short. DeLoach emphasizes playing primarily zone or man defense and using the other as a "change of pace" defense. In this presentation, he will show you how to hide your coverages by playing pre-snap defense and making proper reads. Using game footage, DeLoach provides instruction for 2-deep zone, 3-deep zone, halves, quarters, press man, and off man coverages. He also includes reads and reactions versus the run.
