Coach Gamble's setter technique training centers around his goal of multiple ball touches. Gamble begins with individual setting technique that focuses on hand position and footwork. He shows just how easy it is for a setter to get multiple touches, either on or off the court, through multi-positional skill development drills that every team member can participate in.
Gamble moves into team drills that incorporate ball control, foot speed, anticipation and communication. He includes sets to a variety of targeted positions, jump setting and dump sets. Gamble shares a visual drill progression that begins with the basics of court awareness in reading and reacting with the set. This progression starts with simplified drills that are appropriate for a beginning setter and advance through more complex blocking reads for successful volleyball setting.
